Last Friday at Stage 12, thrash metal band Rosed Grave opened for Peril Suite. Band frontman Micah Graves and Guitarist Brett were both Juniors in high school when they decided to start a band. Later down the line gaining TAMU students Daniel (drummer) and James (Bassit) creating a current day metal band inspired by bands like Metallica, Avenged Sevenfold, and Megadeth. Now high school seniors and friends, this group has released 3 singles within a year of forming.

Starting their set with an original single “I am Blind”, loud, proud, and giving the crowd what they said they would, a show. Striking vocals and a knack for their craft, Rosed Grave definitely gained the crowd over with their covers of Megadeath’s "Tornado of Souls” and Metallica's “Creeping Death”. They remind me a lot of the 1980’s heavy metal scene which is clearly seen by their choice of covers. They brought high energy, and a thrash metal vibe that really brings back the nostalgia of my first time listening to thrash metal hits of the 1970s, and 1980s. 

They closed their show with their most recent single “Withered” and it is their strongest song and probably my favorite of their set, as I am incredibly partial to instrumental intros that have a build up to lyrics. 

It is personally shocking that these young musicians seem to have so much experience. These exceptional and fresh musicians are definitely ones to watch in College Station’s growing music scene.
