For those of you who don’t know, I am a proud disabled student of Texas A&M University. I am confined to a wheelchair, and can’t walk. Now, you should know that I take my life in stride and stand tall in the face of adversity, but I cannot stand the fact that America has allowed such an ablest music genre as Rock and Roll to exist for so long.  

Now, obviously ‘Rock and Roll’, as the kids are calling it these days, (is a play on the)

 ‘rolling’ of a wheelchair, and how we should throw ‘rocks’ at disabled people. Now, I can’t take this connotation sitting down! I feel as if I must stand and fight against these perfectly reasonable, non-sarcastic claims!

I am more than happy to be the hands and feet for those who simply cannot use their hands and feet, and this is a cause I will fight for with pride! Now, how can we correct these horrible transgressions? Well, buckle up! I’m here to offer some insight into how we can solve this together!

We rebrand Rock and Roll into something more tolerant, such as “Everyone is Equal, and We Shouldn’t Throw Rocks at Disabled People”. I know it seems clunky, but say that out loud a few times. Don’t you feel like a better person? Moving on:

We invent exoskeletons, and thus make wheelchairs obsolete. What? Science hasn’t been working on this? Then where are my tax dollars going?!

We disable EVERYONE. If everyone is disabled, then no one is! Problem solved! What do you mean, ‘that doesn’t solve the problem’?

I understand that this transition will be difficult for some of you. But just let the armies of change march through this University, then this country, and then the world! What? I’m not being sarcastic, shut up!
