Day For Night: A Houston Winter Festival

Day For Night is expected to be a top-notch, futuristic festival featuring next-level talent that certainly can put Houston on the map as the entertainment powerhouse it is.
November 9, 2015

HOUSTON (Free Press Houston) — Free Press Houston and New York-based Work-Order has teamed up to construct a unique new winter festival experience from the ground up. The re-imagined festival, Day For Night, will be taking over Silver Street Studios on December 19 and 20, promising to be a tantalizing experience for both the eyes and the ears. "We always knew we wanted to produce a large scale winter event but we don’t want to just put on another festival," said Free Press publisher Omar Afra. "This one has to be different.” Day For Night will be featuring world-class musicians like Kendrick Lamar, Dillon Francis, Janelle Monáe and Dan Deacon. Additionally, Belgian-born digital artist Alex Czetwetrynski will curate dynamic visual components that include immersive lighting, video art, and projection in two controlled environments with stages featuring the live music. A third outdoor stage will showcase more art like projections, original video installations and, of course, music. “The entire campus will be an active experience with visual and experimental art installations," said Kiffer Keagan, a Houston native and a creative partner of Work-Order. Day For Night is expected to be a top-notch, futuristic festival featuring next-level talent that certainly can put Houston on the map as the entertainment powerhouse it is.
