If you’re looking for some incredibly positive energy, head over to one of The Mowgli’s upcoming shows! They just kicked off their tour with The Maine and Beach Weather last week, but took a slight detour and flew across the country to College Station, TX to put on a show that definitely did not disappoint. The setlist for the show was an excellent combination of songs from both their newest album, and other albums with songs fans know by heart. They included everything from “Spacin Out,” and “Spiderweb,” from their newest, Where’d Your Weekend Go? as well as classic favorites like “I’m Good,” from Kids in Love, and “San Francisco,” from Waiting for The Dawn. In the middle of the show, the band asked how many people had seen them at previous shows, and only a few raised their hands. However, for a crowd who had never seen The Mowgli’s, they sure brought their energy – and the band was having just as much fun as the crowd. There was so much positivity and happiness flowing from their performance, and there wasn’t a time that I didn’t feel like dancing! My favorite part of the show would have to be when they performed “I’m Good.” Even if you’re unfamiliar with the song or its words, it is easy to catch on, so the audience was filled with electricity and dancing – some people even started to crowd surf! (Photo Courtesy of Megan Pavel) Before the show, I had to opportunity to speak with a few of the band members in their green room while they prepared for the performance. As soon as I stepped into the room, they welcomed me, and seemed to enjoy talking to me throughout the short time I got to spend with them. One of the questions I asked in the interview concerned the overall theme behind their music, and they all seemed to agree – love. I found this reassuring because with all the negativity and hate happening throughout our country and the world today, it is nice to know that artists are promoting kindness and acceptance through their music, another reason why I enjoyed coming to their show so much.
